When I run BuildBoost I'm getting errors like 'error: git checkout-index: unable to create file' on my Windows machine. What can I do?

BuildBoost uses the command line version of GIT which has trouble with long paths (more than 260 characters) on Windows machines. We're working on a workaround, but in the meantime you can run BuildBoost in a directory that is closer to the root.
